Abstract:

The collection consists of: an identification of individuals who appeared in a group photograph taken in April 1928 (entitled Kol Yaakov); a photocopy of an article that appeared in the December 20, 1946 edition of the Jewish Community Bulletin entitled "In Cherished Footsteps--Rabbi David Stolper's Students Carry On in His Tradition;" a photograph of Rabbi Stolper dated April 29, 1945; photocopies of pages from an undated yearbook of the Central Hebrew School (Faculty and Graduates [includes Arthur Zimmerman]); a photograph of some unidentified young children; an entry form for Jack Goldberg to submit his photographs to the Bureau of Jewish Education; newspaper clipping from the May 22, 1992 edition of the Northern California Jewish Community Bulletin featuring a letter to the editor, entitled, "Twinge of Nostalgia," written by a William Braunstein; an obituary for a Morton Sinelnikoff who died on July 30th; a handwritten list of individuals who attended the Hebrew School Reunion in May 1992; a copy of "Our Future," published by the graduating class of the Central Hebrew School, Jewish Educational Society, May 1939; photocopies of excerpts of an untitled memoir written by an unknown individual [probably Daniel Goldberg] relating to the individual's Jewish education (a handwritten note says that this text was "Written Circa 2000"); and excerpts from Michael Zarchin's Glimpses of Jewish Life in San Francisco (1964).

Daniel T. Goldberg was born in Lithuania in 1915, and immigrated to San Francisco in 1926. He graduated Commerce High School, UC Berkeley, and Boalt Hall. He worked for 50 years for the Hebrew Free Loan Association, and opened his own law practice in 1949.
